Yesterday was a special day—one where we got to check in with our precious little one during her clinic visit at Children’s Hospital. As any parent knows, these visits are a mix of emotions: hope, concern, and an overwhelming desire for progress. Fortunately, we received some positive news that has lifted our spirits, even as we continue to face challenges along the way.
One of the highlights of the visit was hearing that our baby girl is doing well at home. Her kidney numbers are showing improvement, though they’re still a bit elevated. The tricky part is that, since she was on antibiotics recently, it’s hard to determine her true sustained kidney function at this time. So, we’ll have to wait for the next round of lab tests next month to get a clearer picture.
It’s a process full of uncertainties, but I’m grateful for the small victories. One of the biggest milestones is that her echo looked fantastic—her heart is doing great, and she no longer has an infection! Praise God for that, as it’s been a huge weight off our shoulders. But, even though there’s been progress, we’re not out of the woods yet. The path ahead still requires constant monitoring, treatment plans, and a lot of hope.
We also worked together with the team to come up with a proactive plan in case she gets fluid overloaded again—an issue that we’ve faced in the past. The plan involves a diuretic action strategy that will allow us to manage things at home, should the need arise. So, for now, we’re doing okay. But it’s a day-by-day journey, and your prayers are truly appreciated. We’re praying that the kidney issues won’t have any lasting impact on her long-term health. It’s in God’s hands, and we trust in His healing power.
As if that weren’t enough, the clinic visit also brought up a challenge that every parent can relate to: diaper rashes. My sweet girl has been struggling with a particularly bad diaper rash due to persistent diarrhea. It’s been a painful experience for her, and as any parent would, I just want to make her as comfortable as possible. We’ve been using a combination of stoma powder with a wound spray, followed by A&D, but I’m open to any other suggestions from fellow parents. What are your best diaper rash remedies? Any tips or tricks that have worked wonders for your little ones?
Aside from this challenge, the overwhelming theme in our life right now is gratitude. While the road has been bumpy at times, we’ve seen incredible progress in our little girl’s health. I’m constantly amazed by her resilience and strength. As parents, we go through each day with hope in our hearts, trusting that with God’s grace, she will continue to heal and thrive.
We are blessed to see her smiling, laughing, and growing stronger every day. Each step forward, no matter how small, is a testament to the power of prayer, love, and God’s healing grace. Our hearts are full of gratitude as we reflect on how far she’s come. There are still challenges ahead, but we are confident in her strength and the support we have from family, friends, and the medical team. We continue to pray for her continued healing, for her kidneys, and for her overall well-being.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey with us. Your prayers, love, and support mean the world to us. We are not walking this path alone, and your kindness has been a light in the darkest moments. Please keep praying for our baby girl, for continued healing and for strength as we navigate the road ahead.
We are also reminded that through every challenge, there are moments of joy, progress, and new questions. In the midst of the medical appointments and treatments, there’s still time for the little things—the diaper changes, the giggles, the quiet moments that remind us just how precious and fleeting each moment with our children truly is.
So, as we continue this journey, we ask for your prayers and wisdom. May we continue to see progress, and may our baby girl continue to heal, one step at a time. 💖👶
