Leoś, our little miracle, is just a few months old, yet he has already endured a journey filled with unimaginable challenges that would break even the strongest spirits. His story is one of resilience, courage, and hope—a story that would make anyone’s heart tremble. Leo was born with perinatal asphyxia, a condition that deprives the body of oxygen during birth. His birth was nothing short of a miracle. He had donated almost all of his blood to his mother and was born with a 0 on the Apgar scale, the lowest score possible. Doctors said he had clinically died. Yet, against all odds, Leo’s heart began to beat after a long and intense period of resuscitation. This tiny fighter, barely alive, showed the world from the very beginning that he wasn’t ready to give up.
Since that day, Leo has been a fighter. His journey, however, hasn’t been easy. Despite the incredible strength he showed from the start, Leo now faces many challenges that continue to test his will to survive. He has developed malacia, a condition that affects his brain, and a subdural hydrocele that impacts his head. On top of that, Leo has been diagnosed with epilepsy, adding another layer of difficulty to his already complex condition.
Most challenging of all, Leo suffers from severe muscle tension and weakness on his right side. His doctors have diagnosed him with cerebral palsy, a condition that affects his ability to move, speak, and perform basic tasks that many children take for granted. He requires constant care, treatment, and rehabilitation from multiple specialists just to give him a fighting chance.
The uncertainty of Leo’s future is something we live with every day. As parents, it’s difficult to predict how our son will develop, and that uncertainty brings constant fear. But even amidst this, Leo continues to surprise us. Every small victory—whether it’s a new movement or a moment of communication—fills our hearts with hope. We chose the name Leo for a reason: like a lion, our son is brave. He’s a warrior, and he’s proven it with every breath he takes. We truly believe he’s a miracle, and we continue to fight for his future with all our strength.
Leo’s story is one of incredible resilience, but it’s also a story of hardship. He’s already been through so much in his short life, but he deserves more. We want to provide him with the best possible care, intensive rehabilitation, and every opportunity for development. We want to give him a future filled with happiness, health, and the chance to live the life he deserves. But to do so, we need help.
